Coronary Heart Disease and Depression or Anxiety: A Bibliometric Analysis

Abstract: This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of published studies on the association between coronary heart disease (CHD) and depression or anxiety. The study also aimed to identify leading authors, institutions, and countries to determine research hotspots and obtain some hints from the speculated future frontiers. Publications about CHD and depression or anxiety between 2004 and 2020 were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. Bibliographic information, such as authorship,… Show more

“…More severe disease typically has a great impact on inpatients’ physical activity ability, which is most noticeable in inpatients with myocardial infarction, which can require initial complete bed rest for 2–12 days, depending on the inpatients’ individual condition, until the condition is stable. Moreover, inpatients with myocardial infarction score more highly on depression and anxiety than inpatients with other CHD [ 40 ], which are associated with worsened physical, mental, and social HRQoL [ 17 , 41 , 42 ].…”

“… 17 Meanwhile, atrial fibrillation affects patients’ PROs as well as psychological domain, 18 and patients with coronary heart disease have higher incidences of anxiety. 19 There was a great difference in the number of patients between two subgroups divided on the basis of psychological domain (better vs poorer: 91.5% vs 8.5%). Despite the poorer PSYS subgroup being in the minority, there is still an urgent need for intervention.…”

“…Microsoft Office Excel 2019 and CiteSpace (5.8.R3) were utilized to analyze all 1,669 publications and Microsoft Office Excel 2019 was used to construct the tables. CiteSpace (a web-based Java application) is a document visualization analysis software that was gradually developed for bibliometrics and data visualization ( 31 ). In this study, CiteSpace was employed to construct visual knowledge maps for the distribution of countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals, references, and keywords ( 35 ).…”

“…In addition, this method compares the contributions of different countries/regions, institutions, journals, and scholars ( 29 , 30 ). A unique feature of a high-level bibliometric study is that it will provide researchers with frontier areas of research to save time ( 31 ). Researchers commonly employ CiteSpace as a bibliometric visualization tool for data analysis and visualization ( 32 , 33 ).…”
