“…) and mononuclear [Cu(H 2 L)Y]Y (Y = Cl À , Br À ) copper compounds based on 2,6-diacetylpyridine bis-quinolylhydrazone, demonstrating higher cytotoxic activity towards cancer cell lines Hep-2 (human larynx carcinoma) and HepG2 (hepatocellular carcinoma), than widely used commercial anticancer drugs -cisplatin and carboplatin. 29 Therefore, in continuation of previous research in the present work bis-benzoxazolylhydrazone of 2,6-diacetylpyridine have been used as a ligand for synthesis of the copper metallochelates with perspective cytotoxic properties.…”

“…Tables 5 and 6 show obtained experimental results of the studies on several models: MCF-7 -breast Various investigations are held in the area of cytotoxicity of copper(II) complexes. [3,78,79] In particular, literature moderate cytotoxicity refers to values IC 50 > 10 μM. The IC 50 values in the low micromolar to submicromolar range are referred to as remarkable cytotoxicity, which also pertains to discussed complexes.…”

“…17,20 Previously, in our work, a systematic series of copper complexes based on bis-quinolyl-and benzoxazolylhydrazones of 2,6-diacetylpyridine were studied. 23,24 An in vitro study of the cytotoxic properties of the compounds on the cancer cell lines Hep2 and HepG2 showed that all copper complexes exhibit cytotoxic activity several times greater than the activity of cisplatin and carboplatin. It was found that the activity is largely determined by the nature of the heterocyclic fragment, the acido ligand and the geometry of the coordination polyhedron.…”
