Abstract:Directional antennas in wireless networks can provide substantial performance gain and opportunities. In the case of high-frequency systems, such as emerging 60 GHz networks, they are inherent feature of the system design. In contrast to the traditional omni-directional antennas, directional antennas are capable of reducing the interference level, increasing the communication range, and improving spatial reuse. However, new challenges need to be solved, such as the deafness problem and the asymmetric-in-gain. … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
