Controllable fabrication of copper phthalocyanine nanostructure crystals

Abstract: Copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) nanostructure crystals, including nanoflower, nanoribbon, and nanowire, were controllably fabricated by temperature gradient physical vapor deposition (TG-PVD) through controlling the growth parameters. In a controllable growth system with carrier gas N2, nanoflower, nanoribbon, and nanowire crystals were formed in a high-temperature zone, medium-temperature zone, and low-temperature zone, respectively. They were proved to be β-phase, coexist of α-phase and β-phase, and α-phase res… Show more

“…116 In addition, a high capacity negative electrode materials oen suffer from high volumetric expansion, which in the worst case causes delamination of the interfaces and loss of contact. To overcome these obstacles, many different approaches have been proposed, such as coating the active materials 123 or additional material design solutions to accompany the large volumetric expansion. These precautions lead to decreased energy density in the full cell constructions.…”

“…In addition, the poor conductivity of organics is of less problematic in the case of thin electrode layers. Among the thin-lm deposition techniques, ALD has been widely seen as an elegant tool for interface engineering 123 and for fabrication of high-quality thin lms of the active materials, in particular, solid electrolytes. 143 Most excitingly, the recent advances in the combined ALD/MLD technique have widened the repertoire of electrode materials from inorganic materials to cover also many organic electrode materials.…”
