“…The zeolite LTA membranes prepared on DIC-4 modified porous aAl 2 O 3 disks display higher separation selectivities than those ones prepared on APTES modified a-Al 2 O 3 disks due to the stronger binding strength of urethane bonds in comparison with that of the bonds linking to silyl compounds. For binary mixtures separation, through the Na + LTA membrane at 20 C and 1 bar, the mixture separation factors of H 2 /CO 2 , H 2 /N 2 , H 2 / CH 4 and H 2 /C 3 H 8 are found to be 6.7, 5.4, 4.9 and 15.8, respectively, which are higher than those from the corresponding Knudsen coefficients. Further, relative high H 2 permeances of about 2.3 Â 10 À7 mol m À2 s À1 Pa À1 have been obtained.…”

“…[1][2][3][4][5][6] So far, various types of supported zeolite layers, such as MFI, 7,8 DDR, 9 LTA, 10-14 FAU, 15,16 CHA, 17,18 and AFI, 19 have been successfully prepared on different supports. Among these molecular sieve membranes, the zeolite LTA membrane is of special interest.…”

“…A temperature of 723 K was chosen because the experimental studies of isobutane dehydrogenation in a catalytic membrane reactor are normally performed at this temperature [3,[5][6][7]. Previous calculations of viscous flow over diffusion ratio [13] have shown that convective contribution to transport is negligible (less than 3% of the global flux).…”

“…Catalyst deactivation has been avoided by feeding hydrogen on the reaction side of the membrane [6,7]. Thus in order to keep high yields, it is even more important to use a membrane that is highly permselective towards hydrogen.…”
