Control and regulation means of asynchronized turbogenerator excitation

Abstract: The configuration and basic functions of controlling the excitation system of T3FA 110 2, T3FAU 160 2, and T3FSU 320 2 asynchronized turbogenerators and the ASK 100 4 asynchronized com pensator created by the Power Machines Company in 2004-2008 are described.

“…Such a generator operating with the long-distance transmission line is inclined to approach or exceed the stability limit. The DESG is provided with the d-and q-axis field windings, so that the direction of excitation mmf can be oriented in any direction by implementing different direct currents in both field windings [9][10][11]. Such characteristic can decouple the power angle to the rotor position angle, and thus the stability of DESG is not restricted by the power angle limit, which enables the stable operation throughout the whole range of operating conditions.…”
