Contribution of multiple construction site management features to project team communication effectiveness: the case of mass housing projects

Abstract: Studies have indicated that mass housing projects (MHPs) possess unique multiple site management features (MCS) that significantly induce communication challenges among the project team in its delivery. However, the paucity in these studies is the failure to determine the extent and nature of the communication challenges and ineffectiveness that are inherent in the multiple site management features of MHPs. Through the use of structured questionnaire survey, this study used structural equation modelling to det… Show more

“…The hypothesized model was specified as the CF, SF and AC parameters having causal effects on TF. The PLS analysis involved a two-stage evaluation with the first stage focusing on validity and reliability checks on each of the measuring constructs (CF, SF, AC and TF) in the model (Byrne, 2006; Kwofie et al. , 2015a).…”

“…the impact of violence behaviour on safety behaviour), a preliminary test of the fit of the data for the model was done using Comparative Fit Index (CFI), Goodness of Fit Index (GFI), Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA) and Standardised Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR). This was done to give credence to the model and enhance robustness (Hair et al, 2016;Lei and Wu, 2007;Kwofie et al, 2015Kwofie et al, , 2016.…”

“…Lastly, only indicator was deemed to have never occurred in their interpersonal and organizational communication in their project delivery. In the assessment of communication performance, the less frequently occurring assessment indicator is a testament to good communication performance, whereas the frequently occurring indicator represents a poor performance in the communication (see Kwofie et al, 2015;Xie et al, 2010Xie et al, , 2000Liu, 2009;Murray et al, 2000;Xie, 2002;Thomas et al, 1998).…”
