Continuous-wave laser performance of composite Nd:LuVO4 crystals

Abstract: We report diode pumped continuous-wave (CW) laser performance achieved with two types of composite Nd:LuVO 4 crystals operating at 1.06 μm. The maximum output power of 17.2 W was obtained with an optical conversion efficiency of 47.3% with respect to the incident pump power of 36.4 W, and the corresponding slope efficiency was 48.0%. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest CW output power obtained in Nd:LuVO 4 crystal.
