“…In our review, about 7% of articles incorporated a stated model of disability other than the medical model. The models included the social model (Block et al, 2005; Hyde & Kerry, 1997; McClimens et al, 2017; McClimens, Bosworth, et al, 2012), an ecologic model (Kropf et al, 1993; Wong & Wong, 2008), a human rights model (Ben‐Sefer, 2006), an empowerment model (Mogro‐Wilson et al, 2014; Sarmiento et al, 2016), a ‘nothing about us without us’ model (Ailey & O'Rourke, 2008), and a disabilities studies perspective (Block et al, 2005). All were from the United States or the United Kingdom with the earliest being Kropf et al (1993).…”
