Contact of Working Surfaces for Spherical Washers and Recommendations for Determining the Gap in the Joint

Abstract: In article analyzes the technical requirements for spherical washers used in threaded connections of pumps, which made it possible to highlight contradictions in paragraphs of the current standards for pump fasteners. They regarding recommendations for manufacturing technology and control of the working surfaces of washers. Publication analysis in the spherical surfaces lapping showed the absence of research in the spherical surfaces contact after lapping and the dependence of contact parameters by the technol… Show more

“…The conducted studies make it possible to establish the tool and path tool diameters but lack a mathematical relationship between cutting parameters and their influence on surface roughness [Budnik 2016]. It was reported about the possibility ensuring of significant cuttingedge dimensional wear compensation via altering the shaping point trajectory with maintaining the specified geometry of the thread [Dehtiarov 2020]. Based on the state of art analysis, the method of processing internal threads with a to-size tool of a cutting insert needs more detailed theoretical studies.…”

“…Practical recommendations have been accordingly developed for numerous applications. However, most of these results are valid for smooth bodies, thus completely disregarding such factors as surface roughness [1], films, and coating [2]. The deformation of these thin media is different from the bulk of the contacting bodies.…”
