Construindo a burocratização

Abstract

The research aims to reconstitute how the sanitary service was structured in Campinas, a city in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, from the institutionalization process of sanitary policies during Brazil's First Republic. This structuring was carried out in the city by means of the São Paulo State legislation, characterized by the Sanitary State Service and from the municipal legislative formulation. From the relation resulting of bibliographical and documental sources, we propose to historically reconstitute how health services were deployed in the city of Campinas, given its economical relevance in the state of São Paulo. We highlight the city's and its inhabitants' behavior during this period and when the health policies were widely organized and affected the city's social arrangement. That structuring in the sanitary field services occurred in a period of great socio-economic-demographic changes in Campinas.
