Construction Industry

Abstract

The construction industry has always been a major pillar in the overall development of any economy. The boons of this industry are not only restricted to the structural development of the nation, but it is a major role player in the economic development of any nation. The hidden benefits this industry has provided cannot be ignored. Generating maximum employment, which is not only for the educated section but also for the uneducated section of society, regardless of the skilled or unskilled people, is worth discussing. This industry is a perfect example of the amalgamation of diversity as well as equity within the workplace. This chapter tries to focus on the variables that play a major role when the issues and benefits of diversity and equity are discussed in the context of the construction industry. The data from 450 workers were collected and a questionnaire was prepared to know the exact situation of diversity and equity in the construction industry at prevailing times.
