Constituents of the essential oil of Eucalyptus ficifolia

Abstract: Eucalyptus Jicifolia F. Muell., restricted to the southeast area of Western Australia, has been introduced into New Zealand under the name of scarlet flowering gum. The essential oil, obtained in 0.18% yield, has been shown by preparative gas-liquid chromatography (g.1.c.) to contain a-and P-pinene, limonene, y-terpinene, p-cymene, and possibly a-thujene and A3-or A4-carene.
