Show more
A linguística amazônica hoje 1ABSTRACT: The present article offers a bird's eye view of the most active areas of research in Amazonian linguistics in the last ten years. Topics that are discussed include noun classifiers, number systems, nominal and verbal tense, evidentiality, alignment systems, constituent order, the various forms of subordination, the relationship between grammar, discourse and culture, and the history and classification of Amazonian languages. The article does not favor any particular theoretical perspective, but aims to highlight research which interacts with neighboring disciplines such as anthropology and archaeology, or which informs linguistic theory as a whole. The article closes with a brief assessment of the current state of the indigenous languages of Amazonia and of the field of Amazonian linguistics. KEYWORDS: Amazonian languages; Linguistic typology; Anthropological linguistics; Descriptive and documentary linguistics; Historical linguistics.
RESUMO:O presente artigo apresenta uma síntese das áreas de pesquisa mais ativas da linguística amazônica nos últimos dez anos. Abordam-se temas tais como os classificadores nominais, os sistemas de numeração, o tempo verbal e nominal, a evidencialidade, os diferentes sistemas de alinhamento sintático, problemas ligados à ordem de constituintes, as diversas formas da subordinação, as relações entre gramática, discurso e cultura, e a história e a classificação das línguas amazônicas. O artigo não privilegia nenhuma abordagem teórica em particular, mas procura pôr em relevo as linhas de pesquisa que interagem com disciplinas conexas, tais como a antropologia e a arqueologia, ou que exercem influência sobre a teoria linguística de um modo global. O artigo conclui com uma breve avaliação da situação atual das línguas indígenas faladas na Amazônia e do estado atual da linguística amazônica. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Línguas amazônicas;

Otimalidade.ABSTRACTI attested in Kaingang two constraints of the OCP family. One of them forbids clusters whose segments are identical as for the feature [continuous], eliminating the complexity in onsets whose elements have the same value for that feature; the other one avoids the sequence of two segments with both features [coronal] and [+anterior]. Data from Kaingang are compared with those from Parkatêjê, in order to investigate if the same phonological features are relevant to syllable structure and how the linguistic variation works across languages. Therefore, we (o autor no resumo em portugues usou a terceira pessoa) try to attest similarities and levels of difference concerning phonotatics between related languages.KEYWORDS: Phonology.
