We distinguish between three sorts of integrity: consistency-integrity (whether the agent's acts accord with her claimed values); coherence-integrity (whether the agent's character and internal constitution accord with her claimed values), and; con… Show more

“…Given the institutional emphasis in this discussion, governance can therefore be understood as a value-neutral term, referring to the way in which an institution engages with its stakeholders, makes decisions, and accounts for itself to its constituents and the public at large [36]. 'Governance arrangements' refer to the structures and processes an institution uses to facilitate steering and coordination [37] (footnote 13, p. 24).…”

“…Finally, we are in the opinion that our propositions are worth to be further examined. At a glance, with regard to Proposition 1, we are incline to mention that integrity is positively related to the performance of LAs but what stop us in doing so is the complexity and multi-dimension elements in conceptualizing the personal and institutional integrity which had been highlighted (11). However, we are optimistic with the Proposition 2.…”

“…In addition to that scholar like De George (9) viewed from the perspective of having high moral and ethical standards while others such as Jensen (10) mentioned integrity as an ethical and moral term that linked it with the law of gravity. On top of that, Breaky et al (11) associated integrity with personal and institutional level, thus mooted the notion of Comprehensive Integrity Framework Service integrity.…”

“…Thus, any incidence that has a potential to undermine one's sense of individual's intactness is then regarded as a threat to integrity. This concept of integrity appears to be contextualised in a broader sense than that discussed in the philosophical literature where the notion of integrity revolves around moral undertakings rather than morale outcomes of incidences (Breakey et al., ; Calhoun, ; Tyreman, ). For example, feeling frustrated of being physically attacked by patients as identified in Nilsson et al.…”

“…Despite being highly valued in nursing, there is no consensus on the definition of integrity. Nonetheless, the concept of integrity in nursing practice tends to be understood in a reduced magnitude and isolated values such as honesty, sincerity, ethical conduct or professionalism (Breakey, Cadman, & Sampford, ; Tyreman, ). Such interpretations might be misleading and potentially diminish its value (Cox et al., ).…”
