Conceptual workflow for complex data integration using AXML

Abstract: Relevant data for decision support systems are available everywhere and in various formats. Such data must be integrated into a unified format. Traditional data integration approaches are not adapted to handle complex data. Thus, we exploit the Active XML language for integrating complex data. Its XML part allows to unify, model and store complex data. Moreover, its services part tackles the distributed issue of data sources. Accordingly, different integration tasks are proposed as services. These services are… Show more

“…In future, we aim at mining association rules from logged events taking into account their real-time of logging, and discovering the relationships among events against their logged real-time. Moreover, we intend to apply our algorithm for mining XML events that logged from our data integration platform [8]. This algorithm can be used to discover interesting knowledge, in order to maintain, automate, and re-activate the workflow behavior of the ETL tasks.…”

“…However, only relevant structures are stored into the data integration schema. A detailed workflow that describes the sequence of the framework processes is presented in Salem et al (2010). The workflow illustrates how relevant changes of data sources are monitored and detected, and then how these changes update the integration schema implicitly.…”
