Con 2 grafici e VIII tabelle CICATRIZZAZIONE NORMALE DELLA FERITA OPERATORIA La cicatrizzazione normale della ferita operatoria necessaria all'estrazione della cataratta, ~ ormai ben conosciuta grazie agli studi di numerosi AA. che hanno indagato le varie fasi del processo mediante approfonditi esami biomicroscopici, gonioscopici ed anatomopatologici. Dobbiamo a MAaGIO~E (1940-41) importanti ricerche sull'argomento che ~ stato recentemente trattato in modo lucido da DUNNINGTON nella sua Bowman Lecture (1956).Subito dopo l'intervento ~ possibile rilevare un certo grado di separazione delle labbra della ferita dovuto alla normale retrattilit/t dei tessuti.La parte esterna dell'incisione viene rapidamente colmata da epitelio (legge di RANVIER) prima per un processo di scivolamento delle cellule delle zone adiacenti e dopo per rapida proliferazione mitotica. Alla fine del secondo giorno di decorso postoperatorio la superficie esterna ~ gig completamente ricoperta da epitelio. Se invece ~ stato praticato un lembo congiuntivale, la ferita viene ricoperta da tessuto episclerale fibroblastico.La superfieie incisa dello stroma si agglutina subito. Ben presto una adesione dei margini si verifica per effetto di un rigonfiamento delle lamelle corneali che si imbibiscono di acqueo. Soltanto al terzo-quarto giomo si rileva istologicamente l'inizio della cicatrizzazione stromale mediante proliferazigne fibroblastica.La parte pifi interna dell'incisione si ripara molto pitt tardivamente e non partecipa attivamente al processo di cicatrizzazione. E' dubbio I1 lavoro ~ stato oggetto di Relazione al Congresso lnternazionale di Chirurgia (sezione oftalmologica) tenutosi a Roma il 15.5.1960. E' stato inoltre ampliato ed aggiornato di recenti ricerche, rispetto a quello giA pubblicato dall'A, su Aggiornamenti di Terapia Oftalmologica (1960) 11, 1-91.
