Complexes formés par addition d'éthers-couronnes aux énolates de Na+ et K+ de l'acétylacétate d'éthyle: structures cristallines et système d'équilibres en solution dans le THF et le DMSO

Abstract: The crystal structure of the ethylacetoacetate (EAA) sodium enolate – 15 crown 5 complex (E−Na+–15C5) is described and compared with the E−K+–18C6 structure already published. Both entities are contact ion pairs externally complexed by the crown. The Na+ cation is out of the mean plane of the crown (1,05 Å). The structure of both complexes is retained in THF solution. The effects observed upon addition of crowns to E−M+ énolates in THF solution (ir and kinetics) or DMSO solution (ir and conductivity) are discu… Show more

“…The C -C bond length, again, shows the characteristic shortening with an average value of 1.45 (8) A (see Tab! Deviations, from an antiperiplanar arrangement, in the torsion angles about the C-7, C9-010, and 01-C2 bonds are found in this complex. In addition, complex 2 exhibits an unusually short bond distance of 1.321(10) A for the C 5 4 6 bond, similar to that found in complex 1.…”

“…The original pioneering work of Pedersen (1) described the synthesis of benzo-15-crown-5 and subsequently a series of articles have appeared dealing with the crystal structure (2) and complexation features of this molecule (3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9), as well as 15-crown-5 ether itself (10)(11)(12)(13)(14). Also the solid phase 13C NMR features of benzo-15-crown-5 have been reported (15).…”
