Solutions of fibroin3poly-3-hydroxybutyrate polymer blends in hexafluoro-2-propanol and films obtained after removal of the solvent are experimentally studied at various polymer ratios.Bombyx mori silk fibroin is a biopolymer with unique chemical, physical, and mechanical characteristics [1]. Silk is of a great interest not only as a textile material. It can also be used for biotechnological and biomedical purposes in manufacture of suture materials, contact lenses, biosensors, etc. Silk fibroin is used as fibers, gels, powders, and porous membranes. However, a significant drawback of films and other goods from regenerated fibroin is their brittleness. The mechanical characteristics of fibroin may be improved through blending with other natural or synthetic polymers [238]. Blends are prepared by simultaneous dissolution of polymers in an appropriate solvent or by grinding.
