Cinnamon is one of the plantation spice commodities that contributes to the Indonesian economy. Indonesia is the largest exporter country in the world regarding the total export volume of cinnamon, but regarding the total value of exports, Indonesia comes in second after Sri Lanka. This study aims to analyze the comparative competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon among major competitors in the United States’ market and to analyze the factors that influence the competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon exports in the United States. The data used in this study comprise secondary data from 2007 to 2021 obtained from various data sources. The revealed comparative advantage method was used in a comparative competitiveness analysis. Moreover, the factors that affect the competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon exports in the United States were analyzed using the ordinary least squares method. The results of the analysis show that Indonesian cinnamon is competitive in the United States’ market, but Sri Lanka’s cinnamon exports have stronger competitiveness than Indonesia’s in the United States’ market. The results of the ordinary least squares method show that the exchange rate of the IDR (rupiah) against the USD, the volume of Indonesian cinnamon exports, the GDP per capita of the USA and the value of cinnamon exports to the USA have a significant effect on the competitiveness of Indonesian cinnamon exports to the United States.

Indonesia ranks third in cassava (cassava) exporters in global scale, after Thailand and Vietnam, more than 80% of cassava is exported to China. The productivity of cassava in Indonesia tends to increase, but the total volume of exports tends to decrease. This study focuses on describing the condition of the cassava timber export market trend to producing countries and then analyzes it comparatively in the global market and compares it with two other countries, namely Thailand and Vietnam. The data used is the 2014-2018 time series obtained from secondary data. This study was analyzed by RCA (Reveled Comparative Advantage). The results of research on the export volume of Indonesian cassava commodities in 2014-2018 to the main export destination countries, namely China, South Korea and Malaysia fluctuated and tended to decrease. The competitiveness of Indonesia's cassava commodity exports to China, South Korea and Vietnam can be seen from the results of the calculation of the RCA value which shows that Indonesian cassava does not have competitiveness and comparative advantage in China, South Korea and Malaysia. Although the RCA value of Indonesian cassava is low, the production value of Indonesian cassava is high. From the results of RCA calculations, Thailand and Vietnam have high competitiveness in cassava exports to destination countries, namely China, South Korea and Malaysia because they have an excess value of 1 .

Consumption behaviour is part of human life's needs, which are also regulated in Islam. However, the phenomenon of the emergence of Islamic economics has not completely changed people's consumption behaviour to be more in line with Islamic teachings. This research aims to determine the consumption behaviour of millennial homemakers in Pacitan and its suitability in terms of Al-Ghazali's consumption theory. This study used a case study in Pacitan by interviewing 20 informants in depth from various literature related to consumption behaviour in Islam. The research results show that their consumption behaviour always prioritizes fulfilling primary needs in the form of food, shelter, clothing, education and health. When faced with a choice between needs and desires, desires will be fulfilled after primary needs are met. Apart from that, they also always use halal assets and goods and make plans to save for their children's education costs or if there is a sudden need. However, a group of millennial housewives are still wasteful and stingy and have not paid zakat and alms as a form of concern for the surrounding environment. This research is an initial study revealing the study of people's consumption behaviour based on Islamic economic thinkers. The study can be a reference for studying Islamic consumption behaviour for academics and improving people's consumption behaviour.
