Comparison of the Adsorption Ability of MgAl-HC, CaAl-HC, and ZaAl-HC Composite Materials Based on Duku Peel Hydrochar in Adsorption of Direct Green Anionic Dyes

Abstract: Preparation of composite material from layered double hydroxide (LDH) with hydrochar (HC) from duku peel produces CaAl-HC, MgAl-HC, and ZnAl-HC have shown the success of the preparation process as evidenced by characterizations such as XRD and FT-IR. The XRD characterization data evidenced the typical diffraction of the hydrochar around 2θ = 20° in the composite material. FTIR analysis is a characterization that supports the success of composite materials, which showed the presence of typical vibrations of HC … Show more

“…2 shows that adsorption kinetics followed PSO through the linear regression coe cient (R 2 ) value, close to the value 1. The kinetic model of PSO shows that the process occurs in uenced by adsorbents and adsorbate, while the PFO is a ected by one of the components between the adsorbent or adsorbate (Juleanti et al, 2022) . Data in Figures 6 and 7 indicates that increasing temperature causes the concentration adsorption of MO and MR to 3 shows an increase in adsorption capacity of Mg/Al-LDH is 69.930 mg/g to 71.429 mg/g for MO and 77.519 mg/g to 98.039 mg/g for MR. Based on Table 3, the Langmuir model is better than the Freundlich model on the adsorption process in this study, with the value of R 2 closer to the value of 1.…”

“…The development of LDH composites was also carried out on a hydrochar basis. Research by Juleanti et al (2022) compared the adsorption ability of Mg/Al, Ca/Al, and Zn/Al composites based on hydrochar on the absorption of direct green dyes. The ability of these hydrochar-based composites to have adsorption capacities of 94.34 mg/g on Mg/Alhydrochar, 128.20 mg/g on Ca/Al-hydrochar, and 89.29 mg/g on Zn/Al-hydrochar.…”
