Comparison of Some Soil Enzymatic Activities in Luvisol of Conservation and Conventional Tillage in a Model Experiment

Abstract: The effect of soil tillage operation on soil biological properties has not been extensively studied in Hungary. We investigated some soil biological enzymatic activities (dehydrogenase, β-glucosidase, and phosphatase) of a Luvisol, treated by different tillage, management intensities, i.e., conservation tillage (CT), fully conventional tillage with mouldboard ploughing every year (PT), and moderately conventional tillage with shallow and deep ripping intermittently in every two years (BR). A pot experiment was… Show more

“…In the other treatments, C L in soil bulk had a relatively wide range over a period of 14 years. Changes in C L were more sensitive than SOC due to different soil management in the vineyard, which is not surprising (Nugroho et al 2023). Intense changes in SOC and C L in soil bulk were in the strip grass and NPK fertilization between rows of vines treatments than in the case of tillage treatment.…”

“…The tillage practices chosen directly and indirectly impact the biodynamics of soil. The presence of carbon in CT promotes the acceleration of soil enzyme activities, thereby contributing to the enhancement of soil biological health [39].…”
