Comparison of Pure and Doped TiO2 Thin Films Prepared by Sol-Gel Spin-Coating Method

Abstract: In this study, using spin-coating sol-gel method we fabricated TiO2 thin films, doped with different concentrations (1, 2, and 3 mole %) of Ce, Dy, and Eu. Characterization of the prepared samples was performed by means of the X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, ultraviolet visible absorption, and differential thermal and thermo gravimetric analysis. X-ray diffraction measurements have shown that in Eu and Dy-doped samples crystal structure consists of mixed rutile and the dominant anatase phases,… Show more

“…However, its mechanical properties such as strength, hardness and toughness do not comply with mechanical properties of bone [6,8]. Sol-gel process is an attractive alternative to other methods for synthesis of ceramics and glasses for many reasons: for example, low temperature synthesis, simple equipment to be used, thin film formability and so on [9][10][11].…”

“…The wool keratin-TiO 2 composite films were deposited on quartz glass slides based on a sol-gel spin-coating technique [67]. Prior to spin-coating, the glass slides were cleaned with piranha solution (H 2 O 2 :H 2 SO 4 = 1:3 in volumes) to remove any organic contaminants and native oxide layer on the substrate [68].…”

“…In the DSSCs, the TiO 2 (titanium dioxide) is one of the most used photoanodes due to the lower costs, when faced with silicon used on the first generation solar cells, high photocatalytic activity, chemical resistance to different conditions, excellent conduction on the conduction band, low toxicity and abundance (Donar YO et al, 2020;Bezira NÇ et al, 2017).…”
