“…Despite the large-scale application, reliability and validity of the measurement of habitual physical activity by questionnaires is low (Shephard 2003). Comparisons with doubly labeled water show generally low correlations with systematic underestimates (Staten et al 2001;Arvidsson et al 2005;Maddison et al 2007;Rush et al 2008), overestimates (Koebnick et al 2005;Mahabir et al 2006), or agreement at the group level with considerable error on an individual level (Bonnefoy et al 2001;Conway et al 2002;Washburn et al 2003). Probably, questionnaires can be adequately used as an activity-ranking instrument.…”

“…On the other hand, other studies assessed leisure time physical activity by questionnaires, which have been shown to under-or overestimate PAEE by up to 60% compared with the DLW technique. 38 IL-6 is the major cytokine regulating the hepatic production of CRP and haptoglobin 39 and is mainly produced by adipose tissue. 40 Several studies have shown that active subjects have lower levels of IL-6 than sedentary individuals.…”

“…walks), which is the best reflection of weekly energy expenditure (MET-min/week) [17,18]. The criteria for evaluation of the level of physical activity used in the study consider contemporary health recommendations, the basis of which is the regularity of undertaking this activity, especially by persons with concomitant cardiovascular diseases, but primarily in the prevention of chronic diseases [19].…”
