Comparative study of cases of Covid-19 in the municipalities of Ponta Grossa and Cascavel, Paraná State, Brazil

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to compare, in an essayistic perspective, the occurrence of cases of Covid-19 in Paraná municipalities of Ponta Grossa and Cascavel. With similar geoeconomic characteristics, the municipalities located in different regions on the state context, present totally different figures in relation to the total number of officially registered cases. The publication and implementation of public policies related to social isolation is presented as a fundamental factor that helps to understand the exacerbated number of cases of Cascavel in comparison to Ponta Grossa.
