Summary Background The popularity of dermal fillers has grown rapidly in the last few years for facial rejuvenation. Plasma gel is an autologous gelatinous material that is prepared from the patient's own platelet poor plasma. Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of plasma gel injection as a dermal filler for facial rejuvenation. Patients and Methods The current study was carried out on 52 females presented with facial aging divided into two groups: Group A included 34 females with facial wrinkles, and Group B included 18 females with tear trough deformity. After taking written informed consent, they received two sessions of plasma gel injections at 2‐week interval and followed up monthly for 3 months. They were assessed clinically before treatment sessions and at the end of follow‐up period. Results Both studied groups showed immediate significant clinical improvement after plasma gel injection that maintained till the end of follow‐up period. This finding was confirmed by significant reduction in the mean values of Wrinkle Severity Rating Scale (WSRS) in Group A and Tear Trough Rating Scale (TTRS) in group B, and significant improvement of skin homogeneity and texture in both groups. In general, the reported side effects were minimal and transient. Conclusion Autologous platelet poor plasma gel injection seems to be a cost‐effective, safe, well‐tolerated, and minimally invasive technique producing significant aesthetic correction of facial wrinkles and tear trough deformity.

Background: : Autologous fat transfer has been practiced and described as a promising method in facial rejuvenation. Many randomized and observational studies have been published with scanty of evidence came from review and meta-analysis. Aim of the study: to evaluate the evidence-based practice regarding the efficacy and safety of autologous fat transfer in an updated meta-analysis study.Patients and Methods: Systemic review and meta-analysis using (PRI SMA) statement was achieved. Literature search was performed in PubMed, PLOS and Cochrane library. Many of the search engines have been used including EKB platform to download the articles from SCOPUS and Clarivate databases, starting from 2017 to 2021. Results: Out of 132 articles only 6 articles were included in this study. Study included 255patients in total with an average follow-up only for 12 months. Total sessions for all patients in all studies were once for every patient. Analysis showed an overall longevity 68 %, and one study reported complication rate about 5 %. Three studies reported overall surgeon satisfaction and patient satisfaction were 89%, 81% respectively. Conclusion: Although this updated meta-analysis in the period from 2017 to 2021 but, the evidence of autologous fat transfer efficacy, regards longevity, still limited to have an evidence-based practice. Well-designed multicentric randomized clinical trials and big series cohort studies are strongly recommended to properly conclude about the efficacy, longevity, and satisfaction.

Objective: With the application of 3D photography, our study aimed to quantify parameters of static nasolabial fold wrinkles and establish mathematic regression model between parameters of wrinkles and age, further to quantitatively evaluate the effect of rejuvenation treatment in terms of age. Methods: From October 2016 to May 2018, 433 Chinese female volunteers, aged 25-60 years old, were enrolled in this study. Antera 3D camera was used to collect four parameters of static nasolabial fold wrinkles on the left and right sides of the volunteers, including overall size, average depth (mm), average width (mm), and maximum depth (mm). For those presented a linear relationship with age, univariate linear regression fitting was performed, followed by residual analysis, goodness of fit test, and significance test. Results: The results of univariate linear regression fitting showed there was a clear linear relationship between the maximum depth, average depth, overall size of nasolabial fold wrinkles and age, and the regression equations were established. The significance test of regression coefficients showed P values were less than .0001. Conclusions: With application of the regression model between parameters of nasolabial fold wrinkles and age, the effect of rejuvenation treatment can be quantitatively evaluated in terms of age, which has certain reference and promotion value.
