Abstract:Both, innate and cell-mediated immunity contribute to prevention of chronic myocarditis and consecutively, cardiomyopathy. Thus, in resistant C57BL/6 mice myocarditis induced by Coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3)-infection is abrogated by immune-mediated mechanisms.
