Objectives: The study’s objective is to evaluate the fracture resistance of a tooth that has had endodontic treatment and has been rebuilt using various post and core systems. Materials and Methods: Thirty-six extracted premolar teeth of similar sizes were picked, and at random, they were separated into three groups: group A received stainless-steel posts, group B received zirconia fiber posts, and group C received glass fiber posts. Dual-cured resin cement was used to cement each post. The acrylic resin blocks have samples imbedded in them. Additionally, fracture loads were measured while a compressive force was given to the tooth at a crosshead speed of 1 mm/minute. The one-way analysis of variance F-test and post hoc Tukey’s test were then used to analyze the results. Results: When the mean values and standard deviation were compared, it was found that glass fiber posts had the highest fracture resistance, followed by posts made of zirconia fiber, while stainless-steel posts had the lowest fracture resistance Conclusion: When compared to zirconia posts and stainless-steel posts, glass fiber posts had the highest level of fracture resistance.

Background: Restoring Endodontically treated teeth (ETT) can be challenging for most dentists, particularly when a significant tooth structure is lost. Depending on the coronal tooth structure remaining and the technique used (direct or indirect), endodontic anchorage can involve either a cast post and core or a prefabricated post. Aim: This study aimed to investigate the effect of different custom angulated, i.e.,0°,5°,10°,15° elastic glass fibre post (Everstick post) on fracture resistance of maxillary central incisors. Materials and methods: Forty A total of forty-eight single-rooted maxillary central incisors were selected. All the samples were decoronated 2mm above the Cemento-Enamel Junction and endodontically treated. Post-space preparation was done for all the samples using peesoreamers ranging in size from 1-3. The samples were then randomly divided into four groups (n=12) based on the different angulations, i.e., the angle between the core and the long axis of the root, with 0°, 5°, 10°, and 15° angulations, respectively. The fit of each post in the root canal was verified. Before cementation, the coronal part of each post was bent according to their respective groups. Dual-cure resin cement was used for luting the posts and cured subsequently. The fracture resistance of all the samples was evaluated using the universal testing machine after they were mounted in self-cure acrylic resin blocks. The data were analysed using One-way ANOVA and Tukey's post-hoc test. Results: Group-I exhibited the highest mean fracture resistance compared to other groups. However, One-way ANOVA showed no significant differences (p=0.161) between the four groups. Conclusion: Everstick fibre posts are a preferable alternative for maxillary central incisors with core angulations up to 15° between coronal and radicular segments as they provide better fracture resistance with a more favourable stress distribution.

Aim: To evaluate the fracture resistance under static loading of endodontically treated teeth (maxillary central incisors) restored with carbon fiber posts, glass fiber posts, and everStick posts. The objectives of this study were to check the fracture resistance of the everStick post and compare it with glass fiber posts and carbon fiber posts and evaluated their modes of failure. Materials and methods: An estimated 80 freshly extracted human maxillary central incisors were collected for this study. The coronal portions of 60 teeth were sectioned 4 mm incisal to the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) and 20 teeth were left intact to be used as controls. All the samples were embedded vertically in acrylic resin blocks and the groups were divided as follows. I-control group, II-carbon fiber group, IIIglass fiber group, and IV-everStick (E-glass) group. Root canal treatment was completed in all the 80 teeth of 4 groups. Control group teeth were restored with a composite. In all other teeth, post and core placement was carried out. All specimens were mounted on a test block and subjected to static loading until fracture and the mode of fracture was recorded. Statistical analysis was carried out using ANOVA to calculate the mean values of all groups. An intergroup comparison was carried out using Tukey's post hoc test. Results: The study showed that group I showed the highest fracture resistance followed by group IV, which is everStick post group under static loading. There was a significant difference among test groups. The main mode of fracture was repairable as there was debonding of the core in all the fiber posts. Conclusion: Teeth of the control group showed highest fracture resistance and teeth restored with everStick posts showed higher fracture resistance than those restored with glass fiber or carbon fiber posts under static loading (p < 0.05). The principal mode of fracture was debonding of core and remaining root. Teeth restored without application of a post showed the highest fracture resistance than all other groups. Clinical significance: EverStick/E-glass fiber posts showed significantly higher fracture resistance than the other fiber posts and can be suggested for clinical use.
