Comparative Electroanalytical Studies of Graphite Flake and Multilayer Graphene Paste Electrodes

Abstract: In this paper, the fabrication, surface characterisation and electrochemical properties of graphite flake (GFPE) and multilayer graphene (MLGPE) paste electrodes are described. The Raman investigations and scanning electron microscopy were used to analyze and compare structure of both carbon materials. The electroanalytical performance of both electrodes was examined and compared on the basis of the square-wave and cyclic voltammetric behavior of acetaminophen and model redox systems. Results of those studies … Show more

“…The A eas values for the CSPE and the CSPE/CNF-CHIT were found to be 0.14 cm −2 and 0.25 cm −2 , respectively. Moreover, the roughness factor (RF) of the CSPE and the CSPE/CNFs-CHIT were found to be 1.12 and 2.0, respectively [ 28 ]. This can use the following equation: where the geometric surface area (A gsa ) of the CSPE is 0.125 cm −2 .…”

“…The I D /I G ratio informs of the structure disorder, and lower ratios indicate less disordered structures. 5,45 For an energy density of 10.2 mJ cm À2 the D band is at a minimum, and I D /I G is around 0.07. Also, the 2D band is well defined with its two components showing the presence of high-quality graphite.…”
