This paper proposes a dual-band bandpass filter using stepped-impedance resonators (SIRs) with parallel coupled structures. The proposed filter adopts U-shaped SIRs with parallel coupled lines (PCLs) that have interdigital and comb-line shorted ends. The central PCLs build an upper passband and a transmission zero, and the two U-shaped SIRs build a lower passband. Four resonators and coupling structures are theoretically analyzed to derive its scattering parameters. A novel dual-band bandpass filter is designed and fabricated using the induced scattering characteristics. The measured results show that the fabricated dual-band bandpass filter has an insertion loss of less than 1.02 dB in the lower band of 2.45 GHz and of 3.01 dB in the upper band of 3.42 GHz, and a band-to-band isolation of more than 40 dB, from 3.14 to 3.2 GHz. Abstract-Two compact dual-band bandpass filters (BPFs) with closely spaced passbands are presented in this paper. Each of the filters consists of a stub loaded resonator, to which shorted lines are coupled. The ratio of the center frequencies of two passbands can be easily adjusted from 1.2 to 1.1 by changing the gap of the coupled line. In addition, seven transmission zeros (TZs) can be yielded to obtain high passband selectivity and enhance the out of band performances. As an example, two filters are designed, fabricated and measured. Both filters exhibit the merits of high passband selectivity, very low center frequency ratio, and wide stopband suppression.

Abstract-In this paper, a novel compact second-order quad-band bandpass filter (BPF) is applied based on a novel quintuple-mode stub-loaded trigonal ring resonator. Resonant characteristics are extracted by even-and odd-mode method. Designing procedure of resonant frequencies has also been presented. The last two resonant modes are utilized to cover a wide bandwidth for 5G WiFi application. The rest of other three resonant modes are used to form three passbands for GPS, WLAN and WiMAX applications. According to pseudo-interdigital structure four transmission zeros are generated among passbands to improve the band to band rejection and enhance the frequency selectivity. The measurement results agree well with the EM simulation ones.
