Common Rootrot and Plant Development Following Treatments of Wheat Seed With Aldrin, Gamma Bhc, and Heptachlor, With and Without Mercury Fungicides

Abstract: Common rootrot in Chinook wheat seedlines was more pronounced after seed treatments with samma BHC at 1 oz.

Although the disease can aifect the sub-crown internode, crown, leaf base, coleoptile and roots of plants, its severity has been measured mainly by rating the extent of lesion development on sub-crown internodes (McKinney 1923;Russell and Sallans 1940;Burrage and Tinline 1960;Verma et al 1976~).
