Common origin of nonzero

 and baryon asymmetry of the Universe in a TeV scale seesaw model with 
<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:msub><mml:mi>A</mml:mi><mml:mn>4</mml:mn></mml:msub></mml:math>
 flavor symmetry

We construct a neutrino mass model based on the flavour symmetry group A4×C4×C6×C2 which accommodates a light sterile neutrino in the minimal extended seesaw (MES) scheme. Besides the flavour symmetry, we introduce a U(1) gauge symmetry in the sterile sector and also impose CP symmetry. The vacuum alignments of the scalar fields in the model spontaneously break these symmetries and lead to the construction of the fermion mass matrices. With the help of the MES formulas, we extract the light neutrino masses and the mixing observables. In the active neutrino sector, we obtain the TM2 mixing pattern with non-zero reactor angle and broken μ-τ reflection symmetry. We express all the active and the sterile oscillation observables in terms of only four real model parameters. Using this highly constrained scenario we predict $$ {\sin}^2{\theta}_{23}={0.545}_{-0.004}^{+0.003},\sin \delta =-{0.911}_{-0.005}^{+0.006},{\left|{U}_{e4}\right|}^2={0.029}_{-0.008}^{+0.009},{\left|{U}_{\mu 4}\right|}^2={0.010}_{-0.003}^{+0.003}\kern0.5em \mathrm{and}\kern0.5em {\left|{U}_{\tau 4}\right|}^2={0.006}_{-0.002}^{+0.002} $$ sin 2 θ 23 = 0.545 − 0.004 + 0.003 , sin δ = − 0.911 − 0.005 + 0.006 , U e 4 2 = 0.029 − 0.008 + 0.009 , U μ 4 2 = 0.010 − 0.003 + 0.003 and U τ 4 2 = 0.006 − 0.002 + 0.002 which are consistent with the current data.

In this paper, we incorporate the modular S 4 flavor symmetry into the supersymmetric version of the minimal type-I seesaw model, in which only two right-handed neutrino singlets are introduced to account for tiny Majorana neutrino masses, and explore its implications for the lepton mass spectra, flavor mixing and CP violation. The basic idea is to assign two right-handed neutrino singlets into the unique two-dimensional irreducible representation of the modular S 4 symmetry group. Moreover, we show that the matter-antimatter asymmetry in our Universe can be successfully explained via the resonant leptogenesis mechanism working at a relatively-low seesaw scale Λ SS ≈ 10 7 GeV, with which the potential problem of the gravitino overproduction can be avoided. In this connection, we emphasize that the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry may lead to a stringent constraint on the parameter space and testable predictions for low-energy observables.

We present an A 4 flavor extended B − L model for realization of eV scale sterile neutrinos, motivated by the recent experimental hints from both particle physics and cosmology. The framework considered here is a gauged B − L extension of standard model without the introduction of righthanded neutrinos, where the gauge triangle anomalies are canceled with the inclusion of three exotic neutral fermions N i (i = 1, 2, 3) with B − L charges − 4, − 4 and 5. The usual Dirac Yukawa couplings between the SM neutrinos and the exotic fermions are absent and thus, the model allows natural realization of eV scale sterile-like neutrino and its mixing with standard model neutrinos by invoking A 4 flavor symmetry. We demonstrate how the exact tri-bimaximal mixing pattern is perturbed due to active-sterile mixing by analyzing 1 + 3 case in detail. We also show the implication of eV scale sterile-like neutrino on various observables in neutrino oscillation experiments and the effective mass in neutrinoless double beta decay. Another interesting feature of the model is that one of three exotic fermions is required to explain eV scale phenomena, while other two fermions form stable dark matter candidates and their total relic density satisfy the observed 3σ limit of Planck data. We constrain the gauge parameters associated with U (1) gauge extension, using relic density and collider bounds.
