Printed-circuit patch antennas have been one of the most significant research topic in microwave communication due to their applicability in various domains like seismic data collection and natural resources exploration etc. This paper presents the crux of an elaborate comparative study of different design patterns of circular micro-strip patch antennas with and without geometric slots. A further performance enhancement is suggested by the results obtained by Genetic Algorithm in finding the feed position and impedance matching of the antenna designs. The results obtained from the simulations done in OpenEMS(FDTD method) integrated with MATLAB environment lead to the antenna designs suitable for application in Sat Com, GPS, RADAR, RFID with improved antenna performance in terms of reduced return loss and wide band width.

In this article, it is shown that although the reverse conversion scheme for binary signed-digit number system proposed by Choo et. al. can not support full parallelism; the rules on which it is based are correct. In this connection, a mathematical induction technique is used to validate the decomposition rules. Accordingly, it can be inferred that the reverse conversion scheme for binary signed-digit number system proposed by Veeramachaneni et. al. works correctly and performs reverse conversion in Ω (log n) time, where, n is the input size. As a consequence, the scheme by Veeramachaneni et. al. need to be considered as a potential contender of the more recent schemes for the same.

<p><em>Although the speed advantage of using signed – digit number systems seemed to have been reduced significantly by reverse conversion owing to the carry – propagation, in this paper, it was shown that if typical reverse conversion algorithms were employed for signed – digit number systems, then no further carry propagation needed to transform the output from radix – complement form to other conventional forms. As a result the instantaneous delay caused by the reverse conversion of signed – digit number systems might be compensated by speed gain at later stages.</em></p>
