Abstract:Setting time of mortar incorporating both silica fume and superplasticizer in varying amounts is observed to be a function of temperature and composition. Temperature effects are shown to be predictable using conventional maturity techniques. Reductions in cement content and increases in superplasticizer dosage tend to retard setting, while increases in silica fume content tend to accelerate setting. Adjustment factors are developed which enable prediction of initial set time as a function of composition. Prac… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
