“…Similarly, autobiographical specificity is addressed within the framework of psychiatry (by Barry et al, 2023; Brown, 2023; Bulteau et al, 2023) and neurology (by Fan et al, 2023; Irish, 2023; Kaiser & Berntsen, 2023; Markowitsch & Staniloiu, 2023). As for autobiographical memory, it is investigated through the perspectives of developmental psychology (Fivush & Grysman, 2023), social psychology (Heux et al, 2023), experimental psychology (Sow et al, 2023), and philosophy (Moulin et al, 2023). “…With this approach, they analyze autobiographical memory as a dynamic system that is continuously updated to create a coherent meaning of the self, of others and of the world. Heux et al (2023) also propose a social approach with the concept of collective knowledge (collective memory, cultural memory, social schemata, history) as an interpretative framework for both individuals and societies. They explain how research exploring self, social and directive functions of autobiographical memory echoes the main functions that can be identified in collective memory (e.g., social identity, social schemata).…”

“…While numerous authors examined the definition of “memory” and its various derivatives, the field has progressively taken an inclusive posture toward many disciplines and their approach to the topic (e.g. Assmann and Czaplicka, 1995; Barnier and Hoskins, 2018; Erll, 2011; Heux et al, 2023; Hirst and Manier, 2008; Tota and Hagen, 2016). With the emergence of the journal “Memory Studies” in 2008, followed by its association (MSA) in 2016, the interdisciplinary orientation of the field became even more strengthened.…”
