Writing is considered one of the most challenging skills for second and/ or foreign-language learners, particularly in the online environment. Numerous researchers worldwide have explored how to stimulate students' schemata and develop their writing skills. This study critically investigates the contribution of implementing online tools, such as Padlet and Jamboard, during the pre-writing stage to enhance students' writing abilities and their reactions to this application. A seven-week experimental research design was conducted with two online writing classes using the Zoom platform. The participants were 62 pre-intermediate students in the Intensive English program. T-tests were used to analyse the data, and a survey was administered to students in the experimental group at the end of week 7 to gather their perceptions. The findings revealed that integrating Padlet and Jamboard positively impacted the organisation and content of students' written texts. The survey results showed that most students were satisfied with the effectiveness of the lessons and their level of engagement in class. This study highlights the potential of technology integration in teaching writing, especially during the pre-writing stage, and suggests further research in this area.

Enormous digital tools can assist teachers or students in the teaching and learning process in face-to-face meetings and virtual environments. During Pandemic Covid-19, government policy forced educators to decide and design online learning for all education levels from kindergarten, elementary, junior high school, senior high school, and university. Nevertheless, many free digital tools intended free access for educators that could be utilized as synchronous or asynchronous learning. This article explores utilizing five digital tools for online learning such as Padlet, Kahoot, YouTube, Essaybot, and Grammarly due to teaching Essay Writing course. It is descriptively explained how the researchers used a learning collaboration tool, a content creation tool, a content sharing tool to engage students’ interaction in the Essay Writing course. This article was considered sharing information and recommendation for other teachers to implement free digital tools to increase their learning process and achieve learning outcomes. The teachers and instructional designers may explore these digital tools, adopt relevant tools to their discipline, and do further research.

This study investigates the efficacy of integrating ChatGPT and Padlet platforms to augment reading and writing proficiency among engineering students. In an increasingly digital learning landscape, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT alongside collaborative platforms such as Padlet holds promise for enhancing language skills acquisition. The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative analysis of pre- and post-intervention reading and writing assessments with qualitative examination of student perceptions and experiences. Engineering students are engaged in interactive reading and writing tasks facilitated by ChatGPT-generated prompts on Padlet. Data collection includes student performance metrics, feedback surveys, and textual analysis of student interactions. Preliminary findings suggest that the integration of ChatGPT and Padlet positively impacts reading comprehension, writing fluency, and engagement levels among engineering students. However, challenges related to technical issues, instructional design, and potential bias in data interpretation are identified. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on AI-enhanced language learning and provides insights for educators seeking innovative approaches to support literacy development in specialized academic contexts.
