Coating Composites Based on Polyurea Elastomers with Increased Fire Resistance and Their Use as Roofing Systems

Abstract: This paper presents the results of tests on elastomer coatings based on polyurea–polyurethane formulation with increased fire parameters. Coatings modified with flame retardants: bis(phenylphosphate) resorcinol (RDP), trischloropropyl phosphate (TCPP), and aluminum hydroxide (ATH) were tested. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTG) were used to investigate the structure and thermal stability. The effectiveness of resorcinol bis(phenylphosphate) (RDP), tris chlor… Show more

“…Our recent works [105,106] present the results of tests on elastomeric coatings based on a polyurea-polyurethane preparation with improved fire parameters. First, we presented the results of research on the influence of aluminum hydroxide, resorcinol bis (diphenylphosphate) (RDP), and trischloropropyl phosphate (TCPP) on the flame retardance and morphology of coating composites based on polyurea elastomers [105].…”

“…Nevertheless, the work also showed the negative influence of flame retardants on the mechanical properties of the coating and processing parameters. The most recent work [106] is devoted to investigating polyurea coatings modified with flame retardants: bis(phenylphosphate) resorcinol (RDP), trischloropropyl phosphate (TCPP), and aluminumhydroxide (ATH). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTG) were used to investigate the structure and thermal stability of the modified polyurea.…”
