Under frequency load shedding (UFLS) constitutes the very last resort for preventing total blackouts and cascading events. Fluctuating operating conditions and weak resilience of the future grid require UFLS strategies adapt to various operating conditions and non-envisioned faults. This paper develops a novel data-enabled predictive control algorithm KLS to achieve the optimal one-shot load shedding for power system frequency safety. Our approach yields a network that facilitates a coordinate transformation from the delay embedded space to a new space, wherein the dynamics can be expressed in a linear manner. The network is specifically tailored to effectively track parameter variations in the dynamic model of the system. To address approximation inaccuracies and the discrete nature of load shedding, a safety margin tuning scheme is integrated into the KLS framework, ensuring that the system frequency trajectory remains within the safety range. Simulation results show the adaptability, prediction capability and control effect of the proposed UFLS strategy.

Power systems are becoming more and more complicated. Traditional simulation tools such as transient stability programs and electromagnetic transients (EMT) programs are unable to meet the accuracy or efficiency requirements. This paper proposes a shifted frequency-based EMT (SFEMT) simulation in the symmetrical component-domain (abbreviated as SCSFEMT simulation) for the three-phase transmission system. The sequence-decoupled SCSFEMT modeling for the power system components is first presented based on the symmetrical component transformation. Then, the solution procedure of the presented SCSFEMT simulation algorithm is elaborated in detail based on the EMTP-type solution and multi-sequence Thevenin equivalence (MSTE). With the MSTE, the three sequence networks can be decoupled during the whole simulation. Thus, the dimension of the system is greatly reduced. Last, the accuracy and efficiency of the SCSFEMT simulation are validated on the 10-machine 39-bus New England system by comparing it with traditional EMT and SFEMT simulation. Test results show that the SCSFEMT simulation algorithm is much more efficient than traditional SFEMT simulation.

The crisis of fossil fuel exhaustion and environmental pollution promotes the employment of distribution generators in distribution systems. The intermittent and random nature of distributed generators may bring threaten to the reliability and stability of the power grid. To improve the N-1 evaluation schema for distribution grid with DGs, an evaluation index system and comprehensive evaluation method for distribution system are proposed in this paper. Security, economy, quality and development coordination of system are analysed and used as the evaluation indexes. An evaluation framework is implemented with an analytic hierarchy process and a gray relational analysis method. The proposed index and framework were implemented tested with a modified distribution system on the CloudPSS platform. Multiple optimization objects of planning solutions for the distribution system were evaluated by the proposed frameworks. The best grid connection schema were generated based on the evaluation results. The test results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed index system and framework.
