Purpose The purpose of this paper is to rank the users’ attitude on major components of mobile cloud computing (MCC) security and investigate the degree of impact of these components on MCC security as a whole. Design/methodology/approach Hypotheses were evolved and tested by data collected through an online survey-questionnaire. The survey was administered to 363 users from Chinese organizations. Statistical analysis was carried out and structural equation model was built to validate the interactions. Findings The eight components of MCC security in the order of importance are as follows: mobile device related, user identity related, deployment model related, application-level security issues, data related, virtualization related, network related and service delivery related. The empirical analysis validates that these security issues are having significant impact on perceived security of MCC. Practical implications Constant vigilance on these eight issues and improving the level of user awareness on these issues enhance the overall security. Social implications These issues can be used for designing and developing secured MCC system. Originality/value While several previous research has studied various security factors in the MCC security domain, a consolidated understanding on the different components of MCC security is missing. This empirical research has identified and ranked the major components of MCC security. The degree of impact of each of these components on overall MCC security is identified. This provides a different perspective for managing MCC security by explaining what components are most important.

The past few years have witnessed the emergence of a novel paradigm called cloud computing. CC aims to provide computation and resources over the internet via dynamic provisioning of services. There are several challenges and issues associated with implementation of CC. This research paper deliberates on one of CC main problems i.e. load balancing (LB). The goal of LB is equilibrating the computation on the cloud servers such that no host is under/ overloaded. Several LB algorithms have been implemented in literature to provide effective administration and satisfying customer requests for appropriate cloud nodes, to improve the overall efficiency of cloud services, and to provide the end user with more satisfaction. An efficient LB algorithm improves efficiency and asset's usage through effectively spreading the workload across the system's different nodes. This review research paper objective is to present critical study of existing techniques of LB, to discuss various LB parameters i.e. throughput, performance, migration time, response time, overhead, resource usage, scalability, fault tolerance, power savings, etc. The research paper also discusses the problems of LB in the CC environment and identifies the need for a novel LB algorithm that employs FT metrics. It has been found that traditional LB algorithms are not good enough and they do not consider FT efficiency metrics for their operation. Hence, the research paper identifies the need for FT efficiency metric in LB algorithms which is one of the main concerns in cloud environments. A novel algorithm that employs FT in LB is therefore proposed.

The concept of cloud computing was created to better preserve user privacy and data storage security. However, the resources allocated for processing this data must be optimally allocated. The problem of optimal resource management in the loud computing environment is described in many scientific publications. To solve the problems of optimality of the distribution of resources of systems, you can use the construction and analysis of QS. We conduct an analysis of two-buffer queuing system with cross-type service and additional penalties, based on the literature reviewed in the article. This allows us to assess how suitable the model presented in the article is for application to cloud computing. For a given system different options for selecting applications from queues are possible, queue numbers, therefore, the intensities of transitions between the states of the system will change. For this, the system has a choice policy that allows the system to decide how to behave depending on its state. There are four components of such selection management models, which is a stationary policy for selecting a queue number to service a ticket on a vacated virtual machine each time immediately before service ends. A simulation model was built for numerical analysis. The results obtained indicate that requests are practically not delayed in the queue of the presented QS, and therefore the policy for a given model can be considered optimal. Although Poisson flow is the simplest for simulation, it is quite acceptable for performance evaluation. In the future, it is planned to conduct several more experiments for different values of the intensity of requests and various types of incoming flows.
