Cloud‐assisted Parkinson disease identification system for remote patient monitoring and diagnosis in the smart healthcare applications

Abstract: Summary The development of a cloud‐based Parkinson's disease identification system is identified as one of the most challenging issues for predictive telediagnosis and telemonitoring in the emerging smart healthcare applications. The traditional way of Parkinson's disease identification by clinical parameters is more costly and uncomfortable for rural people to avail the testing and diagnosis from the remote place. So, the cloud‐assisted Parkinson's disease identification system (CAPDIS) is proposed based on n… Show more

“…While technology-assisted care can certainly enhance the quality of life by reducing the amount of necessary travel, especially in rural areas [ 22 ], the further development of sensor- and algorithm-based systems is likely to lead to a reduction in face-to-face human contact in care and nursing [ 23 ]. Instead of the expected improvement, the quality of life of some patients in need of care who have relied on regular nursing and examination visits may, in the end, be conversely reduced if these structures in the organization of their care were suddenly lacking.…”
