“…In the rabbit (36), goat (26), and bovine (3) ,B-casein promoters, the corresponding sequence TCA'lTITTCT also binds YY1, albeit with lower affinity. The consensus binding site of YY1 (also called CF-1, b, or NF-El) on different promoters consists of the core CCATnT (25).…”

“…The exon-intron boundary of the human CSN1 gene followed the GT/AG rule and was highly homologous with the consensus sequences [12]. Human CSN1 and CSN2 genes sequences characterized in this study show high homology with those of other mammalian species, including cattle [11,13], goats [14], mice [15], rabbits [16,17], rats [18,19] and sheep [20] and possess 60-71% and 64-73% homology with those of other mammalian species. Furthermore, the nucleotide sequences of the regions between positions -200 and -1 of human CSN1 and CSN2 genes are highly conserved with those of other mammalian casein genes.…”

“…In this study, the LR gene is under the control of the goat -casein promoter (Roberts et al, 1992;Persuy et al, 1995) which is one of the most abundant proteins in the milk, and included in the construct to direct the efficient gene expression in milk-specific way at lactating stage. Other studies have shown that the goat -casein promoter can efficiently direct the high expression of a foreign gene in the milk of transgenic animals, such as human serum albumin (up to 40 g/L) in bovine milk (Echelard et al, 2009) lysozyme (up to 1.45 g/L) in transgenic mice (Yu et al, 2006) and lactoferrin ( 2.5 g / L and 3.4 g / L) in two transgenic cows .…”
