BACKGROUND Ovarian cancer is the 6 th most common cancer in worldwide among female population, whereas in India, it is the third most common cancer among women, 1 in 70 women have their lifetime risk to develop this tumour. Survival rate depends on the stage of diagnosis. Although, geographic and racial differences in the incidence of ovarian tumours are well-recognised information regarding any dissimilarity in clinicopathological behaviour is scarce. In the present study, the clinicopathological features of patients with ovarian tumours are evaluated. MATERIALS AND METHODS In a series of 96 clinically and diagnostically-proved ovarian tumours, case history was taken and clinical examination was done. Surgical staging done according to laparotomy, gross morphology and histopathological study was done. Study Type-Observational study, done in between December 2015-March 2017 in Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences and RF (Research Foundation). RESULTS Out of 96 cases are studied in Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences and RF, 59 cases are benign and 32 cases are malignant tumour and 5 cases are borderline malignant potential tumours. Most of the tumour presented within 2 months of onset of symptoms, abdominal distension is commonest presentation in (51% of cases). Almost, 71% of the malignant tumour diagnosed at stage III/IV of the disease. CONCLUSION On histopathological study of these tumours, 73% are surface epithelial tumours. Among surface epithelial tumours, serous tumour is the commonest one. So, early diagnosis and prompt treatment (surgery and chemotherapy) definitely reduce the mortality from ovarian tumour.

BACKGROUND: Ovarian tumors are one of the leading cancers in females with variable pathological types. This study describes the distribution, clinical and pathological details of various histopathological types of ovarian tumors in a tertiary care hospital in North India. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective data of 3 years were collected for ovarian tumors submitted to the pathology department of a tertiary care hospital. Data were classified according to the latest World Health Organization (WHO) Classification into epithelial tumors, germ cell tumors, sex cord–stromal tumors, and others. RESULTS: A total of 212 cases of ovarian tumors were studied, 186 were unilateral and 26 were bilateral. Resection specimen, part of specimen, and block review formed 80.2%, 15.1%, 4.7%, respectively. Epithelial tumors formed the majority in 71.7% of cases followed by germ cell tumors (22.2%), sex cord–stromal tumors (3.8%) and others (2.3%). Maximum number of cases in the respective groups occurred in the age groups 31–40, 21–30, 51–60, and 41–50 years, respectively. Overall, benign tumors were 63.7%, malignant tumors were 31.1%, and borderline were 5.2%. The most common histopathological type of benign and malignant tumor was benign serous cystadenoma (18.8%) and serous carcinoma (9.9%), respectively. CONCLUSION: In the present study, ovarian tumors were classified according to the WHO classification, epithelial and germ cell tumors were the major types of ovarian tumors. Benign epithelial tumor formed the majority with 46.2% cases. Serous cystadenoma and mature cystic teratoma were the predominant type of epithelial and germ cell tumors, respectively.

-The Asymmetrical Half Bridge (AHB) converter has been deeply analysed as second stage in acdc LED drivers. Galvanic isolation, high reliability and high efficiency are their main advantages while a limited duty cycle range (i.e., 0-0.5) and a poor dynamic behaviour are their main disadvantages. As second stage of an LED driver, the most demanding requirement for its control loop is cancelling the low-frequency ripple introduced by the first stage. According to its limited maximum attainable bandwidth, this is normally achieved by implementing a feedforward loop. Nonetheless, the static gain of the standard AHB converter presents a non-linear relation between the output voltage and the duty cycle. As a consequence, the effectiveness of this feedforward loop is limited. In this paper, the use of the Zeta Asymmetrical Half Bridge (ZAHB) converter as second stage of an LED driver is analysed and an optimized design is proposed. Regarding its advantages, it presents an extended duty cycle range (theoretically, 0-1.0). Besides, it presents a linear relation between the output voltage and the duty cycle. Therefore, although its dynamic behaviour is still limited, it can perfectly cancel the low-frequency ripple introduced by the first stage of the LED driver by means of a straightforward feedforward loop. The optimized design proposed in this paper is focused on minimizing the losses in the magnetic components (transformer and inductor) by wisely choosing the value of the two turns ratios of the transformer.
