Clinical trial evaluating the effectiveness of biocompound IMMUNEPOTENT CRP in the third-molar extraction

Abstract: A controlled, parallel, randomized and comparative trial was carried out to evaluate the antiinflammatory efficacy of IMMUNEPOTENT CRP versus ibuprofen in patients after third-molar surgery over seven days. The anti-inflammatory efficacy of IMMUNEPOTENT CRP was evaluated using the method of Amin and Laskin, and the analysis of cytokine production (IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, TNF-a, INF-g) in saliva was done by flow cytometry. The swelling process after surgery was significant (p < 0.05) and the treatments with IM… Show more

“…Although exosome effects vary according to the cell of origin, their potential role in wound healing is novel, especially from a hemoderivative like IMMUNEPOTENT CRP. Previous investigations evaluated possible functions of exosomes isolated from the IMMUNEPOTENT CRP in silico ( Franco-Molina et al, 2016 ) by our research group, proposing a role in biological processes such as wound healing. The study involved both in vitro and in vivo evaluations, revealing distinct cellular responses to ICRP components.…”

“…This dialyzate induces antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capacity in human macrophages stimulated with lipopolysaccharides and exhibits a cytotoxic effect in cancer cells in vitro ; this last property is commonly used as a test of potency for extracts ( Franco-Molina et al, 2011 ; Franco-Molina et al, 2021 ). In a clinical trial of third-molar extraction, ICRP action was compared with that of ibuprofen, demonstrating that ICRP exerts an anti-inflammatory effect ( Franco-Molina et al, 2016 ). Our research team has in silico determined some of the varying biological effects of IMMUNEPOTENT CRP derived from both their overall peptide content and the peptides present within exosomes that promote wound healing.…”

“…IMMUNEPOTENT CRP ® is a bovine dialyzable leukocyte extract. Our research group has published extensive research about IMMUNEPOTENT CRP's antioxidant, antitumor and anti-inflammatory properties at in vitro, preclinical and clinical levels [12][13][14][15]. However, the classical preparation process of the bDLE IMMUNEPOTENT CRP ® presents some challenges for the establishment of a production line.…”

“…Procedures for salivary collection are less invasive, easy, require no special equipment and / or trained staff, and are more convenient for patients than those of blood samples. 34,35 The measurement results of two observations showed the TNF-α expressions were found maximum on day 1 after odontectomy. Elevated serum and tissue levels of TNF-α are found in inflammatory conditions.…”

“…Assessment of the inflammatory response caused by proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α) used saliva as diagnostic fluid as Franco-Molina et al 34 used in their study. Saliva is representative fluid originating from the local environment around the surgical area.…”
