“…Five had multifocal myoclonic jerky movements, and five had focal myoclonic jerky movements. Passman and colleagues 24 reported that 18 (8%) of 222 positive tilt tests had associated convulsive activity. Eleven patients (5%) had tonic-clonic activity; three had focal seizures; and one each had dysarthria, aphasia, unilateral extremity dysesthesia, and temporal lobe epilepsy symptoms (see Table 2).…”

“…About 6% of syncope induced by tilt testing is associated with convulsions, 23,24 and 12% of There is a wealth of presentations of convulsive activity during syncope. [22][23][24]28 blood donor patients in a retrospective analysis had convulsive syncope. 22 The higher prevalence during the fainting lark maneuvers and the prospective observation may reflect increased observer awareness, clinical irrelevance, or both.…”

“…1 Convulsive movements occur in about 5% of all syncope cases and represent a critical degree of cerebral hypoxia. 2 Those exhibiting convulsive symptoms during a syncopal event display greater hemodynamic changes (decreases in heart rate and blood pressure) and develop asystole more often when compared with nonconvulsive patients with syncope. 2,3 In this report, we present a case of orthostatic convulsive syncope in a burn patient.…”
