This literature survey on fundus photography focuses on some developmental highlights in three major areas, namely: (1) The invention of the fundus camera and the subsequent stages of refinement; (2) The evolution of maklng stereoscopic fundus photographs; and (3) The discovery of fluorescein angiography. The diagnostic value of each technique is discussed and illustrated with some brief examples. Some basic methods of taking single-frame retinal photographs with the Zeiss Fundus Camera are described.
