Abstract:The Boston Scientific multizone VT/VF discrimination algorithm results in a prolonged time to VF detection, and consequently, prolonged time to appropriate initiation of device charging. Further studies are needed to determine whether prolonged detection times lead to clinically significant events.
“…Differences in the detection algorithms may have relevant clinical impact. 25 However, all ICD programming was optimized by the physician as usual in current daily practice.…”
Remote monitoring systems improved outcomes in patients with supraventricular arrhythmias by reducing the risk of cardiovascular events, but no benefits were observed in patients with ventricular arrhythmias.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
