Abstract: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infects primarily hepatocytes, leads to development of fibrosis and/or cirrhosis of the liver and is a significant factor for developing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Evidence indicates that liver fibrosis contains uncontrolled inflammation as a part of its etiology.
