“…Although several studies in the past have suggested that MRI can help differentiate these two pathologies, especially with respect to focal or diffuse changes in signal intensity and contrast enhancement features [38], a recent study of 24 patients with pancreatic cancer and seven patients with chronic pancreatitis showed that MRI could not reliably differentiate the two conditions [42].
