Abstract:Repetitive DNAs constitute a significant part of the genomes and are used as cytogenetic markers for the understanding of chromosome evolution. Bees of the genus Melipona presents conserved chromosome number but high variability concerning heterochromatin distribution, dividing the genus into two groups: (i) species with low quantity of heterochromatin and (ii) species with high amount of heterochromatin. Here aiming the understanding of repetitive DNAs chromosomal organization in Melipona we mapped through fl… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
