“…1 H-NMR of 1 showed signals at δ H 8.10 (2H, dd, J = 8.0; 2.0 Hz) and 7.50-7.60 (3H, m), which indicates the possibility of a mono-substituted ring B in a flavonoid. The presence of a 2,2dimethylchromene moiety was indicated by the characteristic signals of its two vinyl hydrogens forming an AB system (Campos et al, 1987) at δ H 5.78 (1H, d, J = 9.0 Hz) and 6.91 (1H, d, J = 9.0 Hz) and a signal at δ H 1.58 (6H, s) attributed to the two methyl groups. The presence of the methoxy groups was indicated by the signals at δ H 3.90 (3H, s) and 4.05 (3H, s).…”

“…Comparison of the 1 H-and 13 C-NMR spectra data to those reported in the literature allowed the identification of chromones 2, [6] 3, [6] 4, [12] 5 [13][14] and 6. [15] Chromone 1 was isolated as an amorphous yellow solid and was identified as 3,3-dimethylallylspatheliachromene methyl ether.…”

“…Spathelia and Dictyoloma are known to contain 2-quinolone alkaloids, prenylated chromones and limonoids (Burke et al, 1972;Mester, 1983;Gray, 1983;Diaz et al, 1983;Suwanborirux et al, 1987;Vieira et al, 1988Vieira et al, , 1990Campos et al, 1987;Sartor et al, 2003). However, prenylated chromones have only been reported from the genera Spathelia, Dictyoloma and Harrisonia, as well as from the Cneoraceae, and Ptaeroxylaceae (Gray, 1983).…”
